General Care

Please take care. You are staying in our loved private space. Treat it as if it was yours.

One special note on the antique table in the dining space. It is over 100 years old and has been used by Prussian Officers (note the worn areas on the base under the table from their boots). The old mahogany wood surface is very sensitive to heat and water. Please always use a mat, wooden board or grid to protect the surface especially with hot saucepans, teapots etc.

Pots and pans on table in Cosy Family Home near the Black Forrest

For groups of 7 or more people, it makes sense to pull the table apart in the middle and insert the separate table board (next to the old cupboard in the dining room). For this, 4 metal hooks need to be released underneath the table top and on the large base of the table.

Cleaning

We have the house cleaned before your arrival to ensure you feel comfortable. If you think we need to improve this, please let us know.
On a longer stay please ensure you clean the house at regular intervals. If you desire our cleaning team to do this for you, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make respective arrangements.
A basic supply of cleaning materials and rubbish bags are in the laundry room in the basement.

Party

This is not a house for noisy parties! Please respect the neighbours and the German public code of no noise at night.

Piano

Please appreciate the antique piano. We try to keep it tuned for those guests who can play. Let us know, should it need retuning. Please do not use it for standing glasses or bottles on.

Slippers

Please do not wear your outdoor foot ware in the house. There are guest slippers in the shoe cupboard in the entrance area. You might like to bring your own.

Windows and Airing

During the heating period, please do not leave the windows open on a tilt. This would only heat the environment and not the house. If you want to air the house, please open all the windows wide for 10 minutes and then close them fully again.
In the summer period, you can gladly leave the windows on tilt as long the heating and the electric radiators are turned off.

Ambiance Monitoring

We want to provide the best ambiance possible to our guests. For this reason we use Minut ambiance monitoring of our Cosy Family Home. It enables us to monitor temperature, humidity, mold risk, noise and occupancy. We use this to be able to increase the reliability that the house is heated as needed and control humidity, There are three small white devices located each on the ceiling in the living room, bathroom on the upper floor and in the basement. These devices do not record audio or video in any way. Should you have any privacy concerns despite that then please contact us directly.
