Stove

The stove is a regular ceramic hob (not induction). To switch it on first press on the on symbol on the glass surface to then select the hob yo want to choose. Then slide your finger to the heat intensity you desire. Note that for the big hob on the font left you can either use it as a small hob or change it to fit a big oot by pressing the symbol with the three circles.

Extraction hood

Please use the extraction hood to ensure the moisture and cooking odour is drawn out of the room. To switch it on pull the metal bar of the hood towards you (approximately 20 cm). There is a slider switch under the right side to regulate the fan speed. Open the window slightly to ensure there is good airflow.

Dishwasher

The small draw at the very top inside the dishwasher is used for placing the cutlery. Ensure you place an unwrapped dishwasher tablet (found in the drawer under the sink) in the machine in the front of the middle draw. Choose a respective program depending on the soiling of the dishes. Please do not place wooden items in the machine. The fast program is usually sufficient for breakfast dishes.

Dining table

One special note on the antique table in the dining space. It is over 100 years old and has been used by Prussian Officers (note the worn areas on the base under the table from their boots). The old mahogany wood surface is very sensitive to heat and water. Please always use a mat, wooden board or gridle to protect the surface especially with hot saucepans, teapots etc.

For groups of 7 or more people, it makes sense to pull the table apart in the middle and insert the separate table board (next to the old cupboard in the dining room). For this, 4 metal hooks need to be released underneath the tabletop and on the large base of the table.

Water (tap)
The water from the tap has drinking water quality and fulfils higher quality standards than bottled water according to German law. Enjoy! Part of the water comes from the Lake of Constance and the other part from local springs.
